Tucked within a quiet Lakewood neighborhood, this backyard transformation reimagines suburban living as something more serene, more immersive, and more connected to nature. With layered stonework, a gently lit koi pond, and walkways that invite you to wander, this space blurs the line between landscape and sanctuary.
STONE, WATER, AND AN INVITATION TO SLOW DOWN
Anchoring the design is a koi pond built from natural stone, complete with subtle underwater lighting that brings it to life after dark. The movement of the water, paird with the stillness of the surrounding greenery, sets the tone for the entire yard: peaceful, grounded, and alive.
SURROUNDING THE POND IS A BLEND OF STRUCTURE AND SOFTNESS
Gravel and stone walkways that wind naturally through the space, subtly guided by integrated landscape lighting.
Thoughtfully placed boulders form tiered retaining walls that define the terrain without interrupting it
A cozy seating area nestled in a quiet nook, perfect for reflection or conversation
DESIGNED TO FEEL WILD, BUILT TO FEEL LIKE HOME
While the space was carefully planned, the overall feel is organic — like a naturally occuring forested retreat just outside the back door. Instead of crowding the y ard with heavy hardscaping or overgrown planting, the LCM team used selective flora to add softness and movement, creating a landscape that feels both intentional and alive.
