Ponds and water features in Argyle

Argyle, the Denton County town locals call "The Small Apple", has kept a rural feel as the area grew around it. Bigger lots mean bigger water: we clean, repair and build backyard ponds here, and larger ponds too.

A pond in Argyle

A permit for a pond

Argyle lists ponds and tanks among the projects that need a town permit, along with pools, pergolas, fences and irrigation. The permit office is 940-464-7273. We build that permit into the timeline of a new pond.

Who supplies the water

The Town of Argyle does not provide water connections; it sends residents to the Argyle Water Supply Corporation, 940-464-0518. Before we fill a new pond, we check the watering rules with whoever supplies your home.

The ground and the town

Denton County mixes black prairie clay with the sandier soils of the Cross Timbers, so we look at your ground before we settle a design. The town took the name Argyle in 1881, when the Texas and Pacific Railroad laid track through it, and had about 5,500 people in 2022.

Questions

The town's own list of projects that need a permit includes ponds and tanks. For a new pond we confirm with the town what your project needs, include the 3D design and the site plan, and plan the build after the permit is in hand. Repairs and cleaning of an existing pond are a different matter.
