Ponds and water features in Southlake
Southlake took its name in 1956 from its place beside the newly built Grapevine Lake. Today it is a city of about 31,000 people, mostly in Tarrant County. We clean, repair and maintain ponds and water features here, and build new ones.
A pond in Southlake
Watering all year
Southlake waters on a year-round, twice-a-week schedule: even-numbered addresses Wednesday and Saturday, odd-numbered addresses Thursday and Sunday, with automatic irrigation only from 6 p.m. to 10 a.m. A hand-held hose is allowed at any time.
Where the water comes from
The city buys its water wholesale from the City of Fort Worth and follows the Tarrant Regional Water District's conservation lead. Homes on a private well are exempt from the schedule if they post a sign saying so.
The ground and the town
Southlake grew from the settlements of Whites Chapel, Dove, Union Church and Jellico, and stayed rural until DFW Airport opened nearby. Soils across Tarrant County range from clay to sandier ground, so we look at your yard before we settle a design.

Our work
The photos on our Texas pages are ponds and water features LCM built and cares for in Colorado. Our Texas work will be shown here as it is finished and the owners agree.
Questions
For watering, yes: Southlake exempts homes on a private well from its schedule if they post a sign. For the pond itself, tell us on the first call. Well water and city water can behave differently in a pond, so we test the water before we treat it.
Many ponds do well with one full clean-out a year and regular visits through the warm months to keep the water clear between them. With summer highs in the mid-90s, algae grows fastest in the hot months, so that is when visits do the most good. We set the schedule to your pond.
