Ponds and water features in Flower Mound

Flower Mound, with 75,956 people in 2020, is the largest Texas municipality that calls itself a town. Grapevine Lake forms much of its southern edge. We clean, repair and maintain ponds and water features here, and build new ones.

The ground

Flower Mound sits in the Eastern Cross Timbers, and its Denton County soils include the Silawa, Nawo and Gasil series. The 12.5-acre mound the town is named for is blackland prairie. One yard can differ from the next, so we look at yours before we settle a design.

Two watering days

Under the town's Long-Term Water Conservation Plan, sprinklers run two days a week: even-numbered homes Tuesday and Friday, odd-numbered homes Wednesday and Saturday, HOA common areas Monday and Thursday, never from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A hand-held hose, a bucket, drip irrigation or collected rainwater may be used at any time.

Where it sits

The town lies about 20 miles northwest of Dallas and 25 miles northeast of Fort Worth, almost entirely in Denton County, and works with the Upper Trinity Regional Water District on water conservation.

Our work

Flower Mound is already on our Texas job list.

The photos on our Texas pages are ponds and water features LCM built and cares for in Colorado. Our Texas work will be shown here as it is finished and the owners agree.

Questions

Yes, by hand. Flower Mound allows a hand-held hose, a faucet-filled bucket, drip irrigation or collected rainwater at any time; only automatic systems and hose-end sprinklers are held to the two days. That makes drip a good fit for the planting around a pond.
